The Traffic Manager is responsible for overseeing all transportation and shipping operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods. This role manages outbound shipping activities, loading operations, transportation planning, freight costs, and departmental budgets while leading and developing the traffic team. The position also drives continuous improvement by optimizing transportation processes, resolving shipping issues, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and customer delivery requirements. Develops methods and procedures for transportation of raw materials to processing and production areas and transportation of commodities from departments to customers, warehouses and other storage facilities. Determines the most economical and efficient routing and mode of transportation for facility shipments. Directs scheduling of shipments and notifies concerned departments or customers of arrival dates. Responsible for management of loading crews for all shipments to customers. Careful consideration will be given to ensure timely loading, compliance to safety, protection of product, maximum use of the trailer and sequencing of loading to support multiple stops to customers. Initiates investigations into causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance. Conducts studies in areas of packaging, warehousing, and loading of commodities and evaluates existing procedures and standards. Initiates changes designed to improve control and efficiency of traffic department. Compliance to the transportation budgets. Strong oversite of cost and processes to ensure smart spend of the transportation budgets. Manages location cost center. Assists in the preparation of department budgets Trains and mentors employees. 5-7 years experience in traffic and logistics Strong analytical, engineering, and financial background Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Experience using Oracle Operating system.
